Metal plate attached to stone mounting block by the UC road, in parish of KIRK ELLA (EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE District), Riplingham Road, Kirkella, by No. 40, on North side of road. Beverley Mounting block, 2 step, erected by the Hull & Kirk Ella turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- HULL 6 MILES Carved benchmark on east side. Humber HER.
