Metal plate attached to stone post by the A631, in parish of WHISTON (ROTHERHAM District), West Bawtry Road, 125m Southwest of junction with Moorgate Road, between A630 and A618 roundabout and traffic light junctions, on brow of hill backing onto wall, at bus stop, on North side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : BARNBY / MOOR / 16¼ MILES / BAWTRY / 14 MILES / TICKHILL / 10¼ MILES : : BAWTRY & TINSLEY / ROAD / WHISTON : : SHEFFIELD / 7 MILES / TINSLEY / 3 MILES : Hole in top. Maker: : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Grade II listed.
