Metal plate attached to stone post by the A661, in parish of SPOFFORTH WITH STOCKELD (HARROGATE District), Harrogate Road; opposite Crosper Farm, on very narrow verge, on brow of hill, on East side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Re-located from further South. Inscription reads:- : WETHERBY / 4 MILES / SPOFFORTH /1 MILE : : WETHERBY SPOFFORTH & / KNARESBRO / ROAD / SPOFFORTH / WITH / STOCKELD : : HARROGATE / 4 MILES / KNARESBRO / 3 MILES : Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Milestone Society National ID: YN_WEKB04.
