Stone post with metal plate (plate lost) by the UC road, in parish of CORTON DENHAM (SOUTH SOMERSET District), East of Corton Denham, on grass verge, on East side of road. Sherbourne iron plate, erected by the Sherborne turnpike trust in the 18th century. Old inscription once read:- : (Ansford 7 / Sherborne 4) Current inscription reads:- : 36 / to Bristol : Somerset HER listed.
