The memorial commemorates 16 local men who died in three wars. Eleven died in the First World War - William Haxton, John Batty, William Tootill, Alfred P Cooper, George Little, Frederick Bewley, William G Allan, William D Dickinson, Thomas W Sarginson, James Little and Herbert Allan. Four died in the Second World War - Frederick Percival, H C M Goodwin, Dixon Hall and C A W Goodwin. Eric Pigg died in the Korean War, in 1950.
