Stone post (plate lost) by the A268, in parish of RYE FOREIGN (ROTHER District), Rye Road, in front of Royal Oak car park on verge, on North side of road. Rye iron plate, erected by the Rye turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- (London) (60) (Rye) (2½) East Sussex HER listed.
