Carved stone post by the A343, in parish of SMANNELL (TEST VALLEY District), North of Enham Alamein, Newbury Road, on grass under hedge and bracken, on West side of road. Newbury waist stone, erected by the Andover & Chilton Pond turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : NEWBURY / 13 : : SARUM / 20 : : OXFORD / 39 : : ANDOVER / 3 : Carved benchmark on base, right side. Milestone Society National ID: HA_NEAN13.
