Carved stone post by the A66, in parish of WARCOP (EDEN District), Southeast of Sandford Thorn, on grass verge, on Southwest side of cut off old A66 road. Appleby plate, erected by the Brough & Eamont Bridge turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : BROUGH / 6 / MILES : : APPLEBY / 2 / MILES : Carved benchmark on right lower face.
