Carved stone post by the UC road (was A583), in parish of NEWTON WITH CLIFTON (FYLDE District), Clifton; West end of village, by the road, on North side of road. Lancs CC stone triangle, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : PRESTON / 5¾ MILES : : CLIFTON-WITH- / SALWICK : : KIRKHAM / 2¾ MILES / BLACKPOOL / 12 MILES : Milestone Society National ID: LA_BPPS12.
