Stone post (plate lost) by the A631, in parish of BAWTRY (DONCASTER District), Tickhill Road, edge of Swinnow Wood, at back of wide verge, bordering wood, opposite footpath sign and edge of trees, on North side of road. Erected by the Bawtry & Tinsley turnpike trust in the 18th/19th century. Inscription once read:- (Sheffield) (20) (Bawtry) (1) Carved benchmark on right hand face. Milestone Society National ID: YS_TYBW16a.
