Carved stone post by the A6528 (was A69), in parish of THROCKLEY (NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE District), Hexham Road, Newburn, Walbottle, 20m East of small burn conduit, on grass verge, on South side of road. Military road number tombstone, erected by the Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 53 : : {eroded coat of arms} : : 5 : Grade II listed.
