Metal plate attached to stone post by the A637, in parish of KIRKBURTON (KIRKLEES District), Flockton, West end, in narrow asphalt strip at side of narrow road, opposite triangular horse sign, on South side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : HUDDERSFIELD / 6¼ MILES : : BARNSLEY & GRANGE MOOR / ROAD / FLOCKTON : : BARNSLEY / 10 MILES / BRETTON / 3½ MILES : Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE. : Grade II listed.
