Metal plate attached to stone post by the A37, in parish of LYDFORD ON FOSSE (MENDIP District), Fosse Way, at crossroads in Lydford, on grass verge, on North East side of road. Ilchester iron plate, erected by the Ilchester turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- 9 SHEPTON MALLET ILCHESTER 6 Grade II Listed.
