Cast iron post by the A53, in parish of MAER (NEWCASTLE UNDER LYME District), Maer Hills, opposite Hollybush Lane junction, on the verge in front of hedge, on South East side of road. Lathe iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : ASHLEY 3 / MARKET - / DRAYTON 8 : : MAER : : WHIMORE 1¾ / NEWCASTLE 6 : Maker:- : Chas.
