Cast iron post by the A5182, in parish of WHITMORE (NEWCASTLE UNDER LYME District), Trentham Road, near Acton Farm approach lane, on the verge in front of hedge, on South side of road. Lathe iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : WHITMORE 1¼ / MARKET - / DRAYTON 11 : : ACTON : : TRENTHAM 3 / LONGTON 6¾ / STONE 8 / STAFFORD / 15 : Maker:- : Chas. Lathe, Tipton. : Grade II Listed.
