Carved stone post by the A696, in parish of BELSAY (CASTLE MORPETH District), 400m East of Edgehouse, on grass verge, on South side of road. New Ponteland stone, erected by the Ponteland turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : Otterburn / 14 Miles / Jedbro / 40 Miles : : Newcastle / 16 Miles : Carved benchmark on right side. Grade II listed.
