Metal plates attached to stone post by the A226, in parish of SWANSCOMBE AND GREENHITHE (DARTFORD District), London Road, junction with Knockhall Chase, opposite Greenhithe Car Centre, in stone sets by low wooden railings, on South side of road. Gravesend iron plate, erected by the Dartford & Strood turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 18 / MILES / TO / LONDON : : 4 / MILES / TO / GRAVESEND : : (on back) XV111 : Rivet benchmark on top representing 104.56 ft ASL. Grade II Listed.
