Carved stone post by the A5191 (was A49), in parish of SHREWSBURY (SHREWSBURY AND ATCHAM District), Belle Vue; Hereford Road, built into brick wall of No 40, on West side of road. Erected by the Shrewsbury to Church Stretton & Condover turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : FROM / The Gates in / SHREWSBURY / 1 / MILE / 1750 : Milestone Society National ID: SA_SBCT01.
