Metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road, in parish of DOULTING (MENDIP District), opposite Hither Broad Pool Farm, near Chelynch, on grass verge near Lane junction, on South side of road. Shepton iron plate, erected by the Shepton Mallet turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : Shepton / Mallett / 3 / Miles : Grade II Listed. List Entry Number: 1391552 Milestone Society National ID: SO_SMDL03.
