Metal plate attached to stone post by the A656, in parish of GARFORTH (LEEDS District), Barnsdale Road, just South of roundabout junction with A63, on the verge, on East side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : DONCASTER / 21 MILES / PONTEFRACT / 6¾ MILES / (CASTLEFORD / 3½ MILES) : : BARNSDALE & LEEDS ROAD / HOOK MOOR / BRANCH / KIPPAX : : BOROBRIDGE / 23 MILES / WETHERBY / 10¾ MILES / (ABERFORD / 3½ MILES) : : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Hole in top.
