The milestone is located just north of the small traffic island to the Sports Centre and Schools, in asphalt with back to the stone wall, near lamppost 117, on the east side of road. Parish of Berwick Upon Tweed (Berwick Upon Tweed District). Cast iron post, BEL/BER L top iron post design, erected by the Berwick, Norham & Islandshires turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- BEL / 13½ : : L / 333 : : BER / 1 The original 4 in the Belford distance has been ground off and 3½ painted over Northumberland HER listed, Reference number: N16759 https://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/Results_Single.aspx?uid=N16759&resourceID=110 Milestone Society National ID: NB_BWBF01
