Carved stone post by the B6462, in parish of PENISTONE (BARNSLEY District), Huddersfield Road, adjacent to Netherfield Congregational Chapel, just below Grammar School, above Work Bank Lane, built into stone wall above entrance to Tolson Court, on West side of road. Erected by an unknown authority in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : (LO)NDON / 177 Miles / Huddersfield /12 / Penistone / 1½ : Carved benchmark on lower front. Grade II Listed.
