Carved stone post (new stone faces attached to old stone?) by the UC road (was A249), in parish of SITTINGBOURNE (SWALE District), Fox Cottage, Chestnut Street, just East of town between J5 of M2 and Key Street roundabout, in tarmac of footpath, on North West side of road. Sittingbourne stone, erected by the Maidstone & Key Street turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 2 / MILES / TO / SITTINGBOURNE : : 9 / MILES / TO / MAIDSTONE : Milestone Society National ID: KE_SBMD02.
