The draw-off tower, connected to the reservoir embankment by a footbridge, is Category A listed [http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB51186] and dates from 1847-8. Two mute swans swim on the partly frozen reservoir and four cormorants are sitting on top of the tower.
