Cast iron post by the B1257, in parish of STONEGRAVE (RYEDALE District), 400m East of Stonegrave Lodge, on banking half way down hill, on North side of road. Replacement Bedale iron casting, erected by an unknown authority in the 21st century. Inscription reads:- : {pointing hand} / MALTON / 11 / MILES : : {pointing hand} / HELMSLEY / 5 / MILES : Maker:- : Mattisons of Bedale : Re-furbished:- : Cleveland Corrosion. : Grade II listed.
