Cast iron post by the UC road, in parish of BARUGH GREAT AND LITTLE (RYEDALE District), Newsham Lane, opposite White House Farm, on sloping verge, on East side of road. Bedale rose iron casting, erected by the District Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : MALTON / {arrow} / 6 / MILES : : NORTH RIDING OF / {rose} / YORKSHIRE / PICKERING / RDC : : KIRBYMOORSIDE / {arrow} / 7 / MILES : Maker:- : F MATTISON & Co / BEDALE : Grade II listed.
