Cast iron post by the A525, in parish of MADELEY (NEWCASTLE UNDER LYME District), East of Madeley Heath farm, in tarmac path against retaining wall, on South side of road. Cochrane iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 20th century. Inscription reads:- : EFFLEY 4 / BASFORD 7 / NANTWICH 11½ : : MADELEY / PARISH : : KEELE 1 / NEWCASTLE 4 : Maker:- : Cochrane & Co, Dudley : Milestone Society National ID: ST_NCNW04.
