Metal plate attached to stone post by the A620, in parish of EAST RETFORD (BASSETLAW District), Retford Road, Ranby, under hedge next to Ranby House Lodge, opposite exit from Ranby House, on South side of road, East of access to field. Retford iron plate, erected by the Worksop to Retford turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- RETFORD. 3 WORKSP. 5 Carved benchmark on right side. Milestone Society National ID: NT_RFWK03.
