Cast iron post by the A52, in parish of KINGSLEY (STAFFORDSHIRE MOORLANDS District), just East of Whiston, at Black Lane junction, on grass verge in front of hedge, on South East side of road. Lathe iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : FROGHALL 1½ / CHEADLE 4½ / HANLEY 11 / STOKE 12 / NEWCASTLE 13½ : : WHISTON : : ASHBOURNE 10¼ : Maker:- : Chas. Lathe, Tipton. : Grade II listed.
