Carved stone post by the A62, in parish of SADDLEWORTH (OLDHAM District), Huddersfield Road, Austerlands, by No.796; opposite No.777, in pavement by entrance, on South side of road. Erected by the Wakefield & Austerlands turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : To / Manchestr(sic) / 9 MileS / 1135 YARDS : : To / Huddersf.d / 15 Miles : Grade II listed.
