Carved stone post by the A217, in parish of MITCHAM (MERTON District), London Road, Mitcham, on Figges Marsh opposite junction with St James Road, on kerbside, on West side of road. Surrey limestone pillar, erected by the Surrey & Sussex turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription once read:- : (Royal Exchange 8) : : (Whitehall 7½) : Grade II listed.
