Carved stone post with metal plate by the A32, in parish of FARRINGDON (EAST HAMPSHIRE District), Lower Farringdon (July 15 (2016?) reported moved 50m South to grass in front of new brick garage), formerly adjacent to the front drive of house, on East side of road. Chawton pillar, erected by the Gosport, Bishops Waltham, Wickham & Chawton turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- 50 Miles from LONDON 27 to GOSPORT Milestone Society National ID: HA_LGO50.
