Metal plate attached to stone post by the B1438, in parish of MELTON (SUFFOLK COASTAL District), Yarmouth Road, opposite Ufford Park Golf Course, on the verge 5m from old stone: SU_LI79 Image New Ipswich iron casting, erected by the Ipswich to South Town, & Darsham to Bungay turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : YARMOUTH / 44 / SAXMUNDHAM / 10 : : MELTON UFFORD / TO / LONDON / 79 : : IPSWICH / 10 / WOODBRIDGE / 2 : Milestone Society National ID: SU_LI79a.
