Cast iron post by the A6, in parish of WHITWELL AND SELSIDE (SOUTH LAKELAND District), opposite Selside Memorial Hall, against dry stone wall, on West side of road. Winder iron casting, erected by the Heronsyke & Eamont Bridge turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : SHAP / 10 / MILES : : 1825 : : KENDAL / 6 / MILES : Maker:- : T WINDER / GATEBECK / FOUNDER : Grade II listed.
