Metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road, in parish of SWAFFHAM (BRECKLAND District), just East of junction with Captains Close, on wide verge, on North side of road. Dereham iron plate, erected by the Norwich & Swaffham turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- DEREHAM 11 SWAFFHAM 1 Norfolk HER listed.
