Carved stone post by the A3100 (was A3), in parish of GUILDFORD (GUILDFORD District), London Road, Stoke, at roundabout junction with A25, in hedge behind path on exit from roundabout, on East side of road. Guildford facets, erected by the Kingston & Sheetbridge, 1st District turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : GUILDFORD / 1 MILE : : PORTSMOUTH / 43 / HYDE PARK CORNER / 26 : : RIPLEY / 5 MILES / STOKE : Carved benchmark lower left face. Milestone Society National ID: SY_LP26.
