Metal plate attached to stone post by the A342, in parish of STERT (KENNET District), 20m North of railway bridge; opposite what was the Clock Inn, on grass at north end of lay-by, between path and end of brick garden wall, on West side of road. Burt iron casting, erected by the Devizes (consolidated) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : DEVIZES / 3 : : SARUM / 20 : : (E)VE(RLY / 12) : Maker:- : BURT / DEVIZES : Grade II listed.
