Opened in 1859 by the Cannock Mineral Railway as part of the line from Walsall to Rugeley, this station closed in 1965. View north west towards Brindley Heath and Rugeley, shortly after the railway line was electrified. The platforms served the lines shown and there were further freight lines to the left, where the cars are parked. In the distance were substantial sidings for all the freight traffic. The current Hednesford station is immediately behind the camera position (see Image).
