An old 'rattlebox' diesel multiple unit of the type that should have been scrapped a decade or more ago. Heading out of Knaresborough towards York on a line that was threatened with closure during the excesses of the Beeching era. The line was reduced to a single track, but now the amount of traffic is at capacity and there have been plans to change the line back to double track. Good to know that there's some imaginative planning going on somewhere.
