Located on Market Street this Bee was created by: Rob Catterall of Rise and Signs and sponsored by Ocean Outdoor "This design recognises great Manchester inventors. Marking Ernest Rutherford's achievements, the Bee depicts the splitting of the atom (the eyes) into two separate atoms (either side of the body). Alan Turing's work led to the modern computer; illustrated by the binary code around the base. The wings give a nod to Professors Andre Geim and Kostya Novoselov who developed graphene into a usable material". "Ocean Outdoor works in partnership with Manchester City Council to bring a digital heart beat to the streets of Manchester through Ocean's connected screen network. It fills a unique position in the advertising landscape, specialising in digital, super premium and globally iconic screens Practising the 'Art of Outdoor', it creates inspirational experiences for today's aspirational brands, whilst giving back to the community.
