Largely 17th century, albeit built in phases over the course of time, and the nearest bay here (now with extensive plastering over the woodwork) is thought to be one of the oldest parts. The timber framed construction resulted in it being granted a Grade II* listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101246913-prince-rupert-hotel-shrewsbury#.XENBu1z7TIU in 1953.
