This photo shows Elmside, a care home run by Methodist Homes for the Aged which provides residential and dementia care for up to 63 older people. It originally opened in 1966 having been built on land that was owned by the Moss family who were well known in Hitchin for their grocery stores. Following redevelopment, it was reopened in 2007 and now provides 24 hours a day care for its residents to live in comfort and maintain their independence and dignity.
