This stretch of Central Drive is a popular parking spot for town-centre commuters as it is one of the nearest free roadside parking spaces to the town. Being part of the park it is relatively ill lit after dark and I have heard several instances of break-ins in the last few years, but this is the first time I have fallen victim myself. For all that, they only took a bag from the back seat which, they will have discovered disappointingly, contained gym stuff - a towel, padlock, almost empty deodorant, and a tatty change of clothes. I suppose it was a bag of unknown potential to the perpetrator. Of far greater loss is the hassle, inconvenience and cost of getting it fixed.
