Calstock is nowadays the penultimate stop on the branch to Gunnislake, although until 1966 trains went as far as Callington. The line largely owes its survival to the inaccessibility of the area by road from Plymouth; it is nowadays marketed as the Tamar Valley Line and passenger loadings are generally healthy. In this view a train from Plymouth, operated by Great Western Railway, departs for Gunnislake.
