Field and Ditch (Ha-Ha) at Firth Lodge

The side of the ditch nearest the Lodge is vertical and forms a Ha-Ha. A Ha-Ha is used in landscape designs to prevent grazing animals from accessing a garden without using a traditional wall that would obscure the views. It is not certain if this feature was actually used for his purpose at the Lodge or if it has purely been ornamental.
