The inconspicuous memorial stone to Joy Division singer Ian Curtis is covered in tokens and offerings from fans around the world. Coins, letters, sunglasses, photos and badges adorn the stone along with more traditional floral tributes. Ian Curtis lived and died, aged 23, in Macclesfield. He is acknowledged as one of the most influential artists of the late 1970s/early 80s post-punk movement.
