One of the many replica mileposts placed beside the canal. This one is on the left bank travelling towards Newtown so the boater would see how many miles to travel to Newton first. The plaque with this post reads "This milepost was placed here by the Montgomery Waterway Restoration Trust on the 10th May 1987 and donated by the Shropshire Union Canal Society to commemorate 21 years of restoration work by the society. It was funded from a bequest by the former Society member - the late Mrs Lily Goddard and unveiled by Graham Hall - chairman of Shropshire Union Canal".
