Shrewsbury Railway Station has 7 platforms thought platforms 1 and 2 now have no track. This view is looking north from the very end of platform 3. In the immediate foreground is the bridge over Castle Foregate (A5191) and to the left, out of picture on the left, is the Abbey Foregate signal box. This controls the junction for trains travelling north to Crewe or to Chester - the lines can be seen dividing in the picture.
