The big bright red building is the large extension built several years ago with a lecture theatre big enough for the expanded intake of 400+ students/year (it was 160 in the late 1970s). The original medical school building is in paler brick to the right while the bit on the left was the pathology department that serviced the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This service moved into the basement of the new PFI hospital and this building is being refurbished. The building contractor's cream coloured office can be seen behind the white van.
