In the 1870s this pub on the corner of Back Piccadilly and Little Lever Street was The Wellington. It became Mother Mac's Image in 1969 in honour of former proprietor Mother Mac McLennon. In 1976 Image it became infamous when then landlord Arthur Bradbury was sacked by Whitbreads brewery. He murdered his wife and their three children, a dog and a cat and the pub's cleaner, Ann Hennegan, before trying to set fire to the place. Now owned by Les Dagnall it was given a makeover in 2016 (Manchester Evening News https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/mother-macs-manchester-refurbished-reopens-11966256 )
